About Garimpo
Why was Garimpo created?
The idea was born from the need to centralize essential tools and data in one place, reducing friction and “tab switching”. The goal is to provide more clarity and speed when analyzing and deciding.
Can I try Garimpo before creating an account?
Yes. The demo opens a sample portfolio with real market prices and years of history, so you can explore the wallet, passive income, taxes and goals without signing up. It is read-only: adding, editing, deleting and AI analysis are disabled, and the sample data resets every day. Your own data is never mixed with it.
Does Garimpo evolve continuously?
Yes. Garimpo evolves continuously, so some screens and features may change over time. Because of ongoing improvements, videos and screenshots may occasionally not match the latest interface exactly. If something breaks or you have suggestions, send them via Feedback/Support, it helps a lot.
Is Garimpo free?
Yes - Garimpo is currently free. All features are available at no cost. Create your account now and take advantage of the full experience.
Will Garimpo always be free?
Garimpo is free today, but we reserve the right to introduce paid subscription plans in the future at any time, at our sole discretion, to help cover infrastructure costs and continue improving the product.
How do I start?
Create an account, log in and add your tickers. From there, use the overview, macro/market, charts and screener to track and compare.
Is Garimpo a portfolio manager?
Yes - My Wallet tracks positions, income, profitability, taxes (DARF), goals and your target distribution, fed by your own B3 statement imports plus manual entries (crypto, international, fixed income). What Garimpo does not do is execute orders: it never connects to your broker or touches your money.
Why not put this information on the login screen?
To keep the authentication experience more direct and fast. A separate public page also makes it easier to share Garimpo and understand the proposal before creating an account.
Data and market coverage
Where does the data come from?
Garimpo combines multiple data sources to calculate and/or generate the data you see. In some cases we rely on governmental or regulatory sources; in others we use third-party providers outside our control. Availability and latency can vary, so we operate on a best-effort basis and may switch providers as needed.
How does the Agenda work (dividends and earnings)?
The Agenda shows events only for the tickers you follow. Dividends list announced and provisioned events (data-com, payment date, type and value). Earnings dates are estimates: not every company is covered and dates can change, so treat them as guidance rather than confirmed schedules.
Why are there three different Debt/GDP lines in Macro Brazil?
They measure the same public debt in different ways. Net debt (BCB) subtracts the public sector's financial assets, such as international reserves. Gross debt counts everything the general government owes: the BCB methodology includes only the Central Bank's repo operations, while the IMF methodology counts the entire stock of Treasury bonds held by the Central Bank, which is why it is the highest of the three. None is 'more correct'; what matters is the trajectory of each one.
Why is the delinquency in Macro Brazil higher than the number in the news?
News headlines usually quote delinquency for the total credit portfolio, which includes subsidized credit (payroll-deducted loans, mortgages, BNDES) that rarely defaults. Garimpo shows the 'recursos livres' series (market-rate credit only), which runs higher and reacts faster, making it a better stress signal for households and companies.
Is data real-time?
No. Relying on free sources means there may be a delay in quotes. The system updates data in the background at regular intervals, so you have near real-time (NRT) information, but it is not designed for Day Trading or high-frequency operations.
Can I use Garimpo outside Brazil?
Garimpo is focused primarily on the Brazilian market (B3, FIIs, etc.), but we also support international tickers. Coverage and depth may vary by region and provider. If you notice gaps or have suggestions, send them via Feedback/Support.
Features and metrics
What is My Wallet?
My Wallet shows only assets where you set an Average Price.
Why is my wallet (My Wallet) empty?
The “My Wallet” tab displays only the assets for which you have defined an Average Price. If you have not yet configured the average price of an asset, it may appear in “All” (Everyone), but not in your personalized wallet.
What is Rank?
Rank is a general composite score based on fundamentals (lower is better). It appears only where enough data exists (Stocks and FIIs).
What is My Rank?
My Rank is a personalized version of Rank that also factors in your Wallet assets, so it reflects your position in that asset. It appears only where enough data exists (Stocks and FIIs).
What is the Opportunity Map?
Each asset is compared only with its OWN history, never with other tickers. The horizontal axis shows where the current valuation multiple (P/L or P/VP) sits within the asset's full monthly history; the vertical axis shows the RSI of the price.
The bottom-left corner (historically cheap and oversold) is a starting point for research, not a buy signal.
You can open it from the dashboard with your own tickers, or from the Screener, which sends the top ranked filtered results (Top 10/25/50) straight to the map.
Why can AI Analysis be temporarily unavailable?
AI Analysis uses external providers (Google AI Studio / Gemini) and is subject to rate limits. To keep the system stable and fair, Garimpo enforces: (1) a per-user hourly quota and (2) a global concurrency limit. If you hit a limit, wait a bit and try again. Results are cached for some hours to reduce repeated calls.
How is the wallet's profitability calculated?
Monthly returns are time-weighted: each month is split at every cash-flow date, the portfolio is valued at each boundary and the sub-period returns are chained, so the size and timing of a contribution cannot distort the month it lands in. That is what makes the number comparable to CDI and IBOV. Months compound into the accumulated curve, and the monthly pace beside it is geometric - it compounds back to the accumulated figure - divided by elapsed time rather than by how many calendar months the window touches, since the first month usually starts on the day of the first purchase and the current one stops today. "% of CDI" divides your return by the CDI over that same measured span; in a losing month this ratio goes negative and large, which is expected. The current month is partial and keeps moving until it closes. When the question is what your money earned rather than how the assets performed, the 12-month figure on the summary row is money-weighted instead, which does count how much capital was deployed and when.
What does "Settling" mean in income?
Income has three states. "To receive": announced, with a future payment date. "Settling": the payment date has passed but the credit has not yet appeared in B3's files, which lag settlement by 1-2 business days - the amount already counts as received, since the money is in your account. "Received": confirmed by the imported data. When an import confirms a settling payment, the estimated value is replaced by the exact one, which can adjust totals by cents.
What counts as passive income?
Everything your portfolio pays you in cash: dividends, JCP and fund distributions, interest from fixed income and Tesouro Direto, and the fees you collect for lending your shares. Papers that pay monthly or half-yearly coupons are income just like a dividend, so they count in the monthly average, the totals and the goals. Principal coming back at maturity is not income: redemptions and maturities are booked as capital result, never here. Fixed income and stock lending each keep their own segment in the chart and their own line in the summary, because their tax treatment differs even though the total is shared.
What is the difference between recurring and one-off income?
Recurring income is what repeats: dividends, JCP, FII rendimentos, and fixed income or Tesouro that pays coupons on a cadence. One-off income is everything that pays once and then stops: a bullet paper settling at maturity, stock lending fees that depend on borrow demand, an option premium. The selector on Renda Passiva - repeated beside the summary, the chart and the monthly history - switches the whole tab between the three readings - all income, only the recurring part, or only the one-off part - so a month inflated by three maturities landing together is easy to spot. Income goals deliberately measure themselves on the recurring figure, and show the other one below: a goal should not be declared reached on money that pays once. Under all income, each summary card also states its own recurring and one-off halves, so the figure a goal projects from sits next to the headline number instead of only in the goal line.
Does Garimpo support options?
Yes, from the Negociação export - the Opções tab is marked beta while it is still being worked on. Premiums are folded per series, a short position carries a negative cost as it should, a series still open past its expiry date is settled as expiring worthless, and the result reaches Impostos in the common 15% bucket with day-trade legs at 20%. Options never consume the R$ 20 thousand exemption, which applies only to shares, and they are booked as realized result rather than passive income, because a buyback above the premium is a loss and income can never be negative. B3's files do not carry the strike, the underlying series or the market price, so you can fill in strike and underlying yourself to make the coverage and exercise-risk checks exact. An assignment is flagged for you to confirm, never guessed, since guessing would corrupt the underlying's average price.
What is the "Projected" segment in the income chart?
Future coupons from fixed income and Tesouro Direto, drawn in its own hatched colour so it is never mistaken for money that is committed. "To receive" is an announced payment: the issuer has declared it. "Projected" is our estimate of a coupon that has not been announced yet, built from the paper's cadence and the amount of its last real payment. It never counts in any total, average or goal - only announced and received money does. A paper appears here once you set its interest payment (Tesouro states it in its own name) and after it has paid at least once, since that first payment is what anchors the amount. It covers the next six months, or the maturity if that comes sooner: a longer tail of small bars crowds out the history you actually came to read, and six months always still shows the next coupon of a monthly or half-yearly payer. Inflation-linked coupons grow with IPCA between payments; CDI and fixed-rate coupons stay flat, which is what they really pay.
How do I set the rate of my fixed-income papers?
B3's files do not carry each paper's contracted rate. Click the ✎ on a fixed-income position to record issuer, indexer, rate and maturity - the wallet then accrues its value over time. An amber ✎! marks papers where filling the rate would unlock the estimate. Papers that pay periodic interest through B3 do not need a rate: their gains come from the payments, and accruing on top would double count. These details survive re-imports.
What do the ⚠️ flags on positions mean?
"history_incomplete": the imported files show more sold than bought for that asset - usually the export period starts after your first buys; re-export from 2019 onwards. "bonus_unpriced": a bonus share arrived without a declared value, so it entered at zero cost and the average price reads lower than reality. Flags are advisories about data limits, not calculation errors.
Can I add assets that are not in B3's files?
Yes - use + Add entry for crypto, US stocks and REITs, international ETFs, investment funds and fixed income held at other institutions. International assets are entered in US dollars and converted at the PTAX rate of the transaction date - the same treatment used for taxes; funds are carried at cost. Manual entries can be edited or deleted and live alongside the imported data, untouched by re-imports.
How does the portfolio distribution (class targets) work?
Set the desired percentage per asset class in Summary, under Distribution - they must sum to 100%. The summary and allocation views then show actual vs. target: green inside the band, red outside, with an arrow for which side it fell out on. The band follows the 5/25 rule by default - a class is off-target once it drifts 5 percentage points of the portfolio or 25% of its own target, whichever is tighter - so a 35% target may sit anywhere from 30% to 40%, while a 5% target is held to 3.75%-6.25%. A margin in percentage points alone is why that matters: 5 points around a 5% target spans 0% to 10%, so the class could double and still read as balanced. Both limits are editable under Rebalancing margin, either can be cleared to use only the other, and any class can carry its own relative margin - which is how a volatile class gets a longer leash than Tesouro. In the same dialog, each class can be expanded to set per-ticker weights (relative numbers, normalized automatically - no need to sum to 100) - the contribution simulator and the Distribution column use them. Ticker weights are shares of their own class, so they inherit the same relative margin, with their own fixed one measured against the class rather than the portfolio. Targets are display-only and survive imports.
How does the contribution simulator (Aporte) work?
In Summary, next to Distribution, click Contribution. Type how much new money you want to invest (or a target wealth) and pick the basis: market value or invested amount. The simulator fills each class's gap toward its target - buy-only, it never suggests selling - and, where per-ticker weights are set, breaks the class amount down per ticker with approximate quantities at the current price. It mirrors the distribution you configured; it is not a recommendation of what to buy. Ticking "Prioritise the most discounted" tilts the split between the tickers of a class toward the ones trading cheap against their own valuation history (P/L for stocks, P/VP for FIIs, plus RSI) - only inside stocks and FIIs, and only between tickers. How much each class receives never changes: that follows the gap to your target, which already skips whatever has run up. A holding with no valuation history keeps its weight rather than being penalised for it, and no holding can lose more than half its weight to the tilt.
What are the wallet goals (Metas)?
The Goals tab tracks four kinds of targets: total wealth, value per asset class, average monthly income (12M), and retirement. Retirement has two modes: by income (your distributions cover your cost of living - projections use only dividends and interest, never asset sales) and by wealth (reach a chosen amount to convert into income assets later). Projections can follow the live CDI, inflation defaults to current IPCA, and yields default to your wallet's own measured numbers. Reached goals keep the date they were first achieved, even if the market later pulls them back below target. Class allocation targets are separate and live in the Summary tab under Distribution.
Does the wallet calculate taxes?
The Taxes tab estimates the monthly DARF on realized gains (with the R$ 20k stock and R$ 35k crypto monthly exemptions and per-bucket loss carryforward), shows the IR provision embedded in fixed income and Tesouro Direto accrued gains (due only at redemption), and prepares the DIRPF numbers: year-end positions at cost plus the exempt and exclusively-taxed income totals. Fixed-income ETFs are excluded because their tax is withheld at source. Values are estimates to support your filing, not fiscal advice.
Is there automatic integration with B3?
There is no live connection to B3: you stay in control by importing the extract files you download yourself from B3's Área do Investidor (negociação and movimentação). The import covers stocks, FIIs, ETFs, BDRs, Tesouro Direto and bank fixed income (LCI, LCA, CDB and similar). Bank fixed income is carried at cost, with interest payments shown as income. Your files are processed into your account only.
How does the average price import (B3 or Investidor10) work?
This feature updates your Average Prices in Garimpo from official files. B3 (recommended): upload the two Excel exports from the Área do Investidor (Negociação and Movimentação); Garimpo reconstructs your trades, handles splits, subscriptions and securities lending, prices bonificações at the company-declared value, and cross-checks quantities against B3's own statement. Investidor10: upload the IRPF Excel (.xlsx) export. In both cases only assets already in your Garimpo portfolio are matched, you review an editable preview before confirming, and only the Average Price field is updated - no tickers are added automatically.
How do Alerts work?
Alerts are configured per user and per ticker. You set condition, target, timeframe, optional end time, cooldown minutes, and channels.
`Above/Below` checks current state; `Crosses` triggers only on transition.
`Repeating` can trigger multiple times with a cooldown (minutes). `Daily/Weekly/Monthly/One-time` trigger once per period.
Cooldown applies only to `Repeating`. Default is 15 minutes; set 0 to disable.
Channels currently available: Browser alert, In-WebApp, Sound notification, and Push (Mobile App).
If browser notifications are not enabled, native popups will not appear; new alerts remain visible via the bell icon indicator.
Account and privacy
I forgot my password, how do I recover it?
Currently, there is no password recovery. To keep the product simple and with low operational cost, we do not maintain email/SMS infrastructure. Keep your password safe and, if you lose access, create another account.
Are inactive accounts deleted?
Yes. To keep the system lightweight, accounts that remain inactive (no login) for more than 90 days may be removed.
Is my personal data safe?
We do not store sensitive personal data. Garimpo is focused on analysis and tracking; the “Average Price” is saved only for your visualization and profitability calculation on the platform.
Can I share my account with others?
No. Accounts are personal and credentials must not be shared. Sharing logins may trigger security checks and can lead to session revocation or account restrictions.
